  • Founder + Lived-In Color Specialist + Invisible Bead Extension Certified + Bridal Stylist

    Hi! I am Kaila!

The person behind HairColumn that loves hair and embraces the beauty and craziness of life! My everyday focus behind the chair is “lived-in” hair color and hand-tied extensions. I am your go to for that, “my hair naturally grows this way,” look. I am certified in Invisible Bead Extensions, the most luxurious hand-tied technique on the market. My other passion is styling hair for weddings and photoshoots.

    • Myself, my husband, my daughter and our three dogs love roaming our 21 acre property

    • I could eat tacos every day

    • I participate in Spartan obstacle races

  • I created HairColumn as a place to share my love for hair and the fullness of what life has to offer. It’s something I try to embody everyday because why not enjoy the life in which you live in? Making people feel beautiful and uplifted transformed my career into a passion. My everyday focus behind the chair is “lived-in” hair color and hand-tied extensions.I am certified in Invisible Bead Extensions, the most luxurious hand-tied technique on the market. The times I am not behind the chair in my salon I am styling hair for weddings and photoshoots. I have 13+ years experience styling brides and models.

Always hungry for change and growth lead me to seek opportunities for continuing education to help further my knowledge and expand my expertise. That’s how I found my love for education both as student and teacher. It wasn’t until I found Davines, a family owned, biodegradable and sustainable company based out of Parma, Italy, that I then began spreading my passion to others and became an educator for Davines in 2017-2021. Educating allowed me to teach and inspire other salons and stylists to enhance their skills and career, all while taking care of our planet at the same time.

I have been a hair stylist since 2007 where I graduated from The College of Cosmetology in Klamath Falls, Oregon. I lived in Bend from 2012-2018 and moved to Eugene, Oregon in October 2018. I am servicing clients behind the chair in the Eugene area along with styling hair for wedding and photoshoots across the states and beyond.

Outside of my career I am an avid adventurer. I love spending time with family and friends including my husband, Alejandro, and my fur babies, Chaos, Beija and Bandit. I am a traveler and explorer of the globe, live music junkie, major foodie, outdoor enthusiast, pretend interior decorator, reader, tea drinker and lover of connecting with people.

  • Cutting + Curls + Dimensional Color

    Hi! I am Gina!

I’m a cutting specialist with an emphasis on curly cuts. I love creating low-maintenance, lived-in cuts and hair coloring that work with your lifestyle and hair texture — looks that grow out easily and only require as much styling as you want to do.

As I continue to grow as a stylist, I hope to add extensions and bridal styling into my practice as well.

    Fun Facts:

    • I know almost all the dialogue in The Princess Bride

    • I am a Tom Cruise movie enthusiast

    • I’ve collected DVDs, books and records since I was a kid, and my house now looks like a media museum

  • I’ve always loved all things beauty. Growing up with curly hair and acne, I was always experimenting with new products and techniques in a never-ending quest for perfection, and I shared my successes with friends and family. Going to cosmetology school felt like a natural step for me.

I grew up in Portland, but I settled in Eugene in 2017 after falling in love with the city during college. I attended Aveda Institute Portland and graduated in 2024, and I’m so happy to be home again in Eugene.

When I’m not behind the chair, I’m probably playing games with friends or watching movies.

STAR

HAIRSTYLIST

  • Hi! I’m Starzzia!

But you can call me Star. I specialize in lived In colors + curly cuts tailored to your texture, lifestyle, and personal style.  Helping women rediscover their confidence through hair — whether it’s embracing their natural texture or finding a color that just feels right.

    Fun Facts:

    • I love records and have a massive and diverse music collection (most of them from the 50-70s, my fave music era)

    • I can play the cello

    • I have 2 orange cats, Lulu and Loki

  • I’ve been behind the chair since 2019. My love for hair started when I was small. Growing up my grandma would take me to the beauty salon to get my hair washed or braided. I loved the way being in the salon made me feel. From the conversations and stories to the beautiful hair that was just created. I also have a bunch of sisters so I got to play with their curly hair and hone my skill.

I think the connections we build and making someone feel more like themselves and confident is one of my favorite parts of the industry. The glow others get after being cared for and listened to is so rewarding.

I’m originally from a small town in Oklahoma, I graduated from Stillwater high in 2019. I went to a cosmetology school while I was still attending high school and received my Oklahoma hair license before even graduating. I have been doing hair ever since!

Outside of the salon I enjoy junk journaling/scrapbooking and painting. I take landscape photography, and love the outdoors and exploring. This is one of the reasons my fiance and I moved to Oregon.

HAIRSTYLIST

COMING SOON

  • Hi! My name is Katie!

I specialize in lived in color and blonding. Creating effortless, dimensional looks that grow out seamlessly. My goal is low maintenance, customized color that enhances your natural beauty while keeping your hair healthy and bright.

I also hope to take on extensions in the future, so stay tuned!

    Fun Facts:

    • I have a 6 year old cat named Kiki. She’s a white ragdoll and I treat her like she’s my child. She’s spoiled to say the least.

    • My first job was at a tanning salon and I’ve now worked in the tanning industry since 2021. It’s a fun side job for me as I build my career as a hairstylist.

    • I went to my first ever concert at 7 years old and it was Justin Bieber’s believe tour.

  • From sitting in the salon chair to standing behind it, my love for hair started as a client. Getting my hair done has always been more than just an appointment for me. My hair is something that makes me feel confident and empowered, and that experience sparked a passion in me to help others feel, and express themselves the same way.

I was born and raised here in Oregon, growing up in Oregon City. I chose to graduate high school early online and earned my diploma in 2024. A few months later, I went on to start cosmetology school at Summit Salon Academy in Portland. I graduated shortly after in 2025 with my Hair Design certification. I then moved to Eugene right after for a fresh start and fun new chapter!

I truly love my career as a hairstylist because it allows me to connect with people on a personal level while helping them feel confident and comfortable in their own skin. Building genuine relationships with my clients and creating a space where they feel seen, heard, and like their best selves is the most rewarding part of what I do. I also love the flexibility this career brings, knowing I can enjoy my job, but also my life outside of work is very important to me.

Outside of the salon, I enjoy a mix of hobbies. I’m a big concert lover and enjoy listening to a wide range of music genres. I also love spending time outdoors and soaking up as much sunshine as I can here in Oregon, whether that’s fishing, hiking, or just laying out by the water.

MANAGER

  • Hi! I’m Reilly!

I manage our day-to-day operations and I am always working in front or behind the scenes here at HairColumn. I might be your first point of contact when you reach out or step into the salon- make sure to say, Hi, as I love to meet everyone that walks through the door! I was drawn to the beauty industry by the powerful impact it allows to have on someone's life—an impact I realized was significant, though different from my previous experiences in human services. I saw the industry as an opportunity to challenge my existing skill set while actively utilizing the interpersonal strengths I had honed in my earlier roles.

    Fun Facts:

    • I have lived abroad 3 times, the longest of which was my junior year of high school I spent living in Austria.

    • I was a competitive horseback rider growing up with jumping being my competition of choice.

    • My biggest life goal is to visit every continent (except Antartica- I do not like the cold that much) at least once.

  • I am from Tigard, Oregon, and graduated from OSU-Cascades in Bend, Oregon with a Bachelors of Science in Human Development and Family Sciences. I used those skills in human behavior and communication to jump into the beauty industry.

What drew me in? The chance to make a powerful, positive impact on clients' lives. I chose HairColumn specifically because of the vibrant community here and our deep commitment to sustainability. Our continuing education, fun team outings, genuine chats, and our wonderful clients are the perks that come with working here.

When I am off the clock, I am an avid reader and likely have a romantasy or fantasy read in my hand. I love belting out any song (especially in karaoke!), and you will usually find me snuggled up with my Basset Hound, Bilbo.
